Public guided tours on Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt:
Every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

These words by architect Joseph Maria Olbrich have gone down in history. The Darmstadt ensemble is architecturally and artistically groundbreaking and marks a turning point in architecture and art on the threshold of the 20th century. The tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site ‘Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt “ tells the story of the entire ensemble with its studio house, exhibition building, artists' houses and park.
This tour includes a visit to the Grosses Haus Glückert, depending on availability.
Meeting point: Infopoint Mathildenhöhe (Olbrichweg 10, h_da car park)
Duration: 90 minutes
The public guided tour on Saturdays at 2pm is always bilingual (German/English)! Another guided tour in only german takes place at 3 p.m.
Important notice:
From 1 October 2024, the meeting point for all guided tours on Mathildenhöhe is the north entrance of the Museum Artists' Colony Darmstadt, at Olbrichweg 13a.

Visit to the exhibition
The Institut Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt is celebrating the reopening of the extensively renovated exhibition building with a multifaceted special exhibition on the art topography of Darmstadt. Outstanding paintings, sculptures, graphics, photographs and video art from the Darmstadt Municipal Art Collection shed light on historical events in the city and present extraordinary people who have lived and worked here.
The exhibition tour develops into a journey through 200 years of the art city of Darmstadt and its immediate region.
This ticket only includes admission to the exhibition, a guided tour is not included!
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 11am - 6pm

Mathildenhöhe Card
The ‘Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt’ World Heritage Site can be easily discovered with the Mathildenhöhe Card .
The Mathildenhöhe Card includes
- use of all public transport in the Darmstadt city area (fare zone 4000)
- admission to the reopened Exhibition Hall with the exhibition 4-3-2-1 DARMSTADT
- admission to the Museum Artists' Colony Darmstadt
- admission to the Wedding Tower Darmstadt
It is available as a 1-day ticket at a price of € 15.00 per person.
Information on planning your visit
Please note that visits to the Wedding Tower are only possible to a limited extent on certain days. As the tower is an official branch of the registry office, wedding ceremonies are held there regularly. During these ceremonies, access for external guests is unfortunately not possible.
