With THE SPHERE, Darmstadt has an innovative training studio that turns physical and mental fitness into a holistic, emotionally charged experience - scientifically sound, inclusive and adaptive. SPHERY, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is bringing its expertise and innovative concepts to Germany for the first time.

At the heart of THE SPHERE is a dynamic circuit training programme that combines strength, endurance, coordination, cognitive fitness and mental strength in an immersive setting. Music, light and team spirit provide emotional depth and create a state of flow in the participants that turns training into an experience.

The inclusive concept is at the centre of this: people of all ages, genders and fitness levels - with or without limitations - can find their optimal training condition thanks to individually adaptable physical and cognitive levels of difficulty. In the optional competition mode, everyone meets at eye level - everyone can take part, everyone is a physical and cognitive athlete.

The roots of the concept go back to the Technical University of Darmstadt, where one of the founders, Prof Dr Anna Lisa Martin-Niedecken, studied sports science and subsequently completed her doctorate on the topic of movement-based exergames. Her scientific work laid the foundation for what is now a reality with SPHERY and THE SPHERE: an accessible, motivating and effective training experience for everyone.

Together with an interdisciplinary team, she spent several years developing well-founded training concepts and digital tools - with the ExerCube as the technological centrepiece. On this basis, the team is now launching THE SPHERE, the first boutique fitness concept that combines the latest technologies, scientific findings and multi-sensory design. It's not just about a finished product, but about a living place that is further developed together with the customers. The aim is to create offerings that are in tune with the times and fulfil real needs.
