„DA passiert was!“ Stadtpunkte-Aktionstag am 4. Oktober

‘Something is happening!’ City points action day on 4 October

Event as part of the ‘Sustainable inner cities and centres’ funding programme

On the German Unity Weekend, Saturday 4 October, from 11 am to 6 pm, the City of Science Darmstadt, Darmstadt Marketing GmbH and Darmstadt Citymarketing e.V. invite you to a varied day of action in the squares of the city centre.

Under the motto ‘DA passiert was!’, there will be a colourful programme on the squares in the city centre, in the Stadtpunkte shops and in the CityLab: from swing dancing to the KinderKiste, from the ScienceLab to acrobatics & live music, food trucks and workshops. Exhibitions and guided tours, a small pop-up market and a city rally will also enliven the city centre.

Exhibition on Friedensplatz

An exhibition on Ernst-Ludwig-Platz along Friedensplatz shows a selection of projects that have been implemented to date as part of the funding programme.

Friedensplatz - culture and movement

The MöbelKisten with deckchairs, cushions, chairs and tables invite you to relax on Friedensplatz and offer play equipment and board games. At the KulturKiste, local music acts provide varied music and a relaxed atmosphere. Acrobatics and exercise programmes such as yoga will be offered throughout the day by city makers from the urban development fund. Culinary delights will also be on offer at various stands.

Summer garden

The summer garden on Ernst-Ludwigs-Platz continues to invite people to meet up and chill out without consuming anything.

Playing and romping around on Ludwigsplatz

The ‘Darmstädter KinderKiste’ transforms Ludwigsplatz into a play paradise for children and their families. The mobile play trailer offers games for 4 to 10-year-olds and seating for parents. In the former McDonalds there is a cultural café with an open painting programme.

CityLab and CityKlavier

The CityLab in Wilhelminenstraße is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all interested parties to exchange ideas on all topics in the city centre. An exhibition shows the numerous activities of the last 2.5 years, and there will also be a small pop-up market in front of the CityLab. In the centre of Wilhelminenstraße, anyone who wants to can make music on the CityKlavier.

City points guided tour and rally ‘DA passiert was!’

As part of several free guided tours, the shop space and neighbourhood managers will give an insight into their work, guide you through the Stadtpunkte shops and show you temporary and permanent new shop concepts, times and registration at www.darmstadt-tourismus.de/fuehrungen-highlights. A Stadtpunkte rally leads to the Stadtpunkte activities in the city centre and invites you to discover the wide range of offers in a playful way.
