©Simone SündermannThe former landgraviate forest around the Steinbrücker pond is a popular local recreation area just outside Darmstadt.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of leisure activities such as mini golf, pony walks, boating and an inclusive playground for children with and without disabilities.
The Oberwaldhaus café-restaurant has been serving food and drink since 1901, with coffee and cake, a beer garden, restaurant and rooms for family celebrations.
