The Kunstarchiv Darmstadt e.V. is a documentation centre for the visual arts in Darmstadt and surrounding area. It archives the work of past artists' generations, establishs a dialogue with contemporary artists and organises exhibitions mainly from its own collections, flanked by readings, concerts, guided tours, exhibition catalogues and the list of artists. A library with over 4,000 publications and more than 600 folders is available for research, as well as for public and private use.
