There are several drinking water fountains in Darmstadt, including at Luisenplatz, Ludwigsplatz and Herrngarten

Refill stations

In the Darmstadt Shop and in all cafés, bars and shops with the refill sticker on the window, it is possible to have tap water refilled free of charge in a container you have brought with you.

In Darmstadt, for example, Café Fräulein Mondschein in Wilhelminenstraße is also a Refill partner.

The voluntary Refill project aims to avoid plastic waste, protect the environment, drink good water and inspire people to live a more plastic-free life. Refill aims to strengthen and promote the urban community and neighbourly cooperation.

Cool places in Darmstadt

The urban climate analysis shows high heat loads for large areas of the Darmstadt urban area. A rise in air temperatures and increasing heat is expected in the future. In order to move through the heated city in a cool place during hot spells, so-called cool places maps have been created.
