During a guided tour of the Merck plant in Darmstadt, visitors have the opportunity to experience the world's oldest chemical and pharmaceutical company up close at its headquarters. The tour provides an insight into the fascinating world of Merck, a leading science and technology company with around 63,000 employees worldwide, operating in the fields of life science, healthcare and electronics.

Since this year, Darmstadt Marketing has been organising the plant tours at Merck in Darmstadt on behalf of Merck. We are still looking for more people who would like to guide groups of visitors around the site and provide information about the company and the site.

A wide variety of visitor groups are guided, including business partners and representatives of Merck as well as school and student groups. Tour guides should enjoy interacting with people and be able to convey the extensive knowledge of the respective site in an entertaining way. The job is suitable for communicative personalities with an interest in science and technology and for people who have time during the day or occasionally at weekends - especially for students during lecture-free periods.

The basic requirements for working as a guest guide at Merck are

- German language skills - min. C1 according to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

- English language skills - min. B2 according to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

- Conclusion of a confidentiality agreement

- Impeccable extended police clearance certificate

- Availability via mobile phone during factory tours

- Valid first aider training

Before taking over the tours, there are a series of seminars and workshops for familiarisation, participation in which is mandatory.
