Luisenplatz
Luisenplatz is the hub of Darmstadt city centre and public transport, but its central location also makes it a good starting point for many activities on foot - such as a walk to Bessungen. What is often called the oldest neighbourhood in Darmstadt was an independent municipality until 1888 and is now one of the most popular residential areas in the city with parks, quiet residential areas and a lively club scene.
Although a path leads straight through the neighbourhood, it's worth wandering off! In addition to small parks and cafés, there are architectural gems and owner-run shops along the way. Niederstraße offers an insight into Old Bessungen, and from there it is not far to the Orangerie, probably the most beautiful park in the city. And it's also worth taking a stroll a little further: hidden between new buildings, for example, are houses from the Wilhelminian era in Sturzstraße.

Pauluskirche
On the way back to the city centre, we recommend walking through the neighbouring Paulusviertel. With tree-lined avenues, the imposing Pauluskirche (St. Paul's Church) and relaxed streets with few cars, it is a pleasant place to walk and explore the district.
